Frenalytics | 2022 Q1 Progress Report
Ahoy! Is it summer yet?! Sure feels like it. June 21st will be here before know it!
Alright, alright…enough daydreaming. Time for the exciting real stuff — fresh-baked updates from Team Frenalytics! We hit huge milestones in Q1 with our personalized learning software, and we can’t wait to share the highlights with you here.
First, the highlights:
- 📈 In Q1, we sustained our revenue growth, grew our partnerships, and onboarded new clients across healthcare and education — including Stony Brook Southampton Hospital here on Long Island, NY.
- 😍 We were interviewed by Boston College’s Eagle Eye and Let’s Talk IS podcasts about FrenalyticsEDU and our launch at the Boston College Campus School!
- 🖥 We made a ton of behind-the-scenes progress to rebrand FrenalyticsEDU — including an all-new freemium plan, coming soon!
- 💸 We closed our pre-seed round and joined the Forum Ventures accelerator program!
Branding Overhaul for FrenalyticsEDU
When we expanded into special education a year and a half ago in response to the COVID pandemic, little did we know how much FrenalyticsEDU would resonate with the teachers, parents, and students it serves. After countless emails, video calls, and Twitter DMs to collect user feedback — and tens of thousands of questions answered by students in Learning Sessions — we’re humbled and heartened to see FrenalyticsEDU take on a life of its own. That also means it deserves a brand of its own!
Introducing our all-new landing page for FrenalyticsEDU, with teacher-centric benefits, quotes, and resources that make giving our latest “project” an easy 💯
💡 Already in the works and coming in Q2:
- A revamped + fully automated signup experience for FrenalyticsEDU
- Brand-new plans with teacher-friendly pricing
- A Settings module to customize the Frenalytics experience for you and your class
Frenalytics Joins Forum Ventures’ Accelerator
On behalf of the Frenalytics team, I am thrilled to share that we closed our pre-seed round in Q1 at $300K — even more than our original target! And if that’s not exciting enough, we’re ecstatic to announce our acceptance to Forum for Founders, a pre-seed accelerator program that helps propel startups like Frenalytics to the next level. Through Forum’s accelerator, Frenalytics enjoys a variety of highly-sought after benefits, including 1-on-1 time with managing director Jonah Midanik who serves as a “fractional co-founder”, mentorship from seasoned founders and investors, office space in Manhattan, and fundraising prep for our upcoming seed raise later this year.
Thank you for helping us grow to this point. We are eternally grateful!

Some New Faces
In Q1, we were fortunate enough to add two new members to the Frenalytics family:
- Robert joined the team in February as a Full Stack Developer, and his specialized C#/.NET background and ambitious attitude has already helped him grow confidently into his full-time engineer position.
- Michael started in March as a Frontend Developer, but his strengths don’t stop there — as a founder himself, Michael enjoys wearing many hats, including in product design, marketing, and product management.
Spring Intern Program
In Q1, we kicked off our Spring Intern Program, which features 4 new students and one returning intern, including a high school student:
- Jacqueline: Studying at Boston College (BC) with a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Computer Science, Jacqueline works alongside Caitlyn and our product team to grow her UI/UX skills and create thoughtful designs for the Frenalytics platform.
- Brennan: A junior at BC studying Computer Science, Foundations of Education, and Theology, Brennan has been studying the science behind Frenalytics, growing our teacher presence with FrenalyticsEDU outreach, and investigating the impact of “learning loss” on the special ed community and how Frenalytics could be a respite for educators.
- Brenden: Also a BC junior studying Computer Science, Information Systems, and Business Analytics, Brenden’s passions for technology and business naturally led to his product management focus, where he participates in sprint planning, check-in, retrospective, and refinement calls.
- Temi: A freshman majoring in Biology with a minor in Computer Science at Caldwell University, Temi puts herself in the shoes of our users to provide product feedback and write blog posts as a Product Management intern.
- Ava: A high school sophomore from Commack, NY, Ava leverages her unique skillset and background as a student with an IEP to interview our team members for an upcoming blog series, research EdTech tools for special ed, and provide feedback to improve our FrenalyticsEDU offering for fellow students.
Frenalytics in the News 📰
Throughout Q1, I had the pleasure of sitting down with several notable podcast hosts to talk about Frenalytics, our pre-seed raise, our growth in the education space, and my experience as a student-founder.

On the Let’s Talk I.S. podcast, sit down with podcast host (and spring intern!) Brenden Picioane and me as we talk about Frenalytics and all things BC:

2022 Goals Check
At the end of 2021, we published some goals for the year ahead. Here’s where we stand so far:
- Sales & Marketing: We’re just about ready to launch a revamped FrenalyticsEDU with plans priced for special ed teachers — stay tuned! We’re also excited to fully automate our signup & onboarding processes for FrenalyticsMED (our solution for healthcare) and FrenalyticsEDU in early Q2. 😍
- Growth: We hired two developers in Q1 and have exciting team announcements for Q2 and beyond! Plus, our Intern Program is still going strong with a successful Spring Program and Summer Program to follow. In addition, our new freemium plans launching soon alongside our FrenalyticsEDU rebrand will help us hit ambitious user growth projections in the second half of the year. We have lots more growth progress coming in our Q2 Progress Report! 📈
- IEP&Me Partnership: A few months back, we finished building our beta version of the IEP&Me Parent Portal — the IEP&Me team is now working on a School Portal suite that’s expected to launch later in the year. We’re still set to integrate our systems in the not-so-distant future for a truly revolutionary take on the IEP process! 🧑🎓🎓
- Team Collaboration: Our acceptance to Forum for Founders has paired us with incredible mentors including seasoned founder and executive Richard Knott and marketing champion Carrie Leonard. We also have exciting Lunch & Learns and other remote team events planned in the coming months — if you have any suggestions for fun ideas, we’d love to hear them! 🎮🧑🏼🏫
Thanks as always for reading — we truly appreciate your support. We’ll be back with our Q2 Progress Report in early July!
